From the values above, it could be concluded that there was no differences of interpersonal communication axxiety in male and female students.

Abstrak :
Previous reviewers have suggested that women display lower self-confidence than men across almost all achievement situations. The empirical validity of this suggestion is assessed. The literature indicates that although low self-confidence is indeed a frequent and potentially debilitating problem among women, they are not lower in self-confidence than men in all achievement situations. Instead, it is argued that the nature of this sex difference depends upon such situation variables as the specific ability area, the availability of performance feedback, and the emphasis placed upon social comparison or evaluation. It is concluded that future research must more precisely identify the variables that influence women's self-confidence. (41 ref) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)

Recently, many mischief and crime actions such as the act of fighting, beating, and other crime actions had been situated by teenagers. The phenomenon indicates the increase of aggressive behaviors among teenagers. The problem can no longer be considered as common mischievousness behavior, due to the negative effects. The taking place of the events could be caused by teenager’s over-confidence. The over-convidence teenager tends to fail to judge his flaws objectively, so that he always feels that he’s perfect and better than anyone else.
Based on mentioned problems, researcher wants to find out the correlation between self-confidence and aggressive behavioral tendency, to answer the question whether self-confidence dos affect teenager’s aggressive behavioral tendency. There are two variables served in this inquiry : 1) The tendency of aggressive behavior as dependent variable, and 2) self-confidence as independent variable.
Population in the research consists of second grade student of SMUN I Rembang. Sampling technique of the research uses Cluster Random Sampling, where all classes have the chance to be examined as research subject. There are 35 research subjects who are treated as try-out subject, and 72 research subjects who are anaysed for the research purpose.
In this research, the data collecting methodology used questionnaire which has already been tested its validity and reliability. The data analyzing technique uses Correlation Product Moment.
The result of the data analysis shows these results : there are positive correlation between self-confidence and the aggressive behavioral tendencies of the student of SMUN I Rembang. This can be seen with the rate of rxy = 0,435 with p < 0,01.
The level of subject’s self confidence can be classified as high, while the subject’s aggressive behavioral tendencies can be classified as low. The effective contribution of self confidence to aggressive behavioral tendencies is 18,9 percent. It can be concluded that there are 81,1 percent of other factors that can add contribution to affect the aggressive behavioral tendencies like temperature anf disindividuation.

This study is set out to examine to what extent peer relations, self-confidence, and
school performance correlated with self-rated happiness (OHI) and loneliness (UCLA
LS) in adolescents. Personality traits (EPQ), self-confidence (PEI), friendship and
school grades were all significantly oppositely correlated with happiness and loneliness.
Regressional analysis revealed that extraversion and neuroticism were direct predictors
of happiness and self-confidence, while psychoticism and extraversion were direct
predictors of loneliness. The effect of sex on happiness and loneliness was moderated
by friendship and neuroticism, and by neuroticism and psychoticism, respectively.
Extraversion was also a significant predictor of general confidence and social
interactions which directly influenced loneliness whilst psychoticism was a direct
predictor of loneliness. Self-rated school performance was the only direct predictor of
happiness whereas general confidence and social interactions were related to
adolescents’ self-reported loneliness.

Abstrak :

Research in both cross-cultural psychology and the social psychology of language has examined the changes in identity and language behavior that occur when two ethnolinguistic groups come into contact. This study attempted to integrate these two fields of inquiry through an investigation of the relations between identity, interethnic contact, linguistic self-confidence, and psychological adjustment in 179 Chinese university students. The findings indicated that exclusive identification with either the first or second language group was the most commonly endorsed identity. Correlational and path analyses of the relations between interethnic contact, self-confidence in using the English and Chinese languages, Chinese and Canadian identities, and adjustment variables supported the proposed model in which communication variables mediate the influence of interethnic contact on identity and adjustment. The results are interpreted within the context of current formulations of acculturation and intercultural communication.
